Low Voltage AC Drives

ACS 140 (1 - 3 HP)

The ACS140 Series is a microprocessor-based Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) adjustable frequency AC Drive. The ACS140 takes advantage of sophisticated microprocessor control and advanced IGBT power switching technology to deliver high-performance control of AC motors for a wide range of industrial applications.

With drives ranging from 0.12 to 3 HP, the ACS140 is offered in both single (1) and three (3) phase models. The standard keypad panel can be utilized on the drive or remotely mounted, and is capable of copying all drive parameters from one drive to another. The features include eight (8) application macros, including PID and Pre-Magnetize, over thirty (30) operating data displays, multi-programmable I/Os, and built-in Modbus Serial Communications. The rich feature set makes the ACS140 the ultimate choice for both the industrial and commercial applications.

The ACS140 also features industry-leading protection characteristics, including Programmable Over-voltage and Under-voltage controls for trip-less operation and up to 350% Over-current Trip Limit, along with Stall Prevention, Power-Loss Ride-Through, Motor Overload Protection and other Drive/Motor Protections (see list of features below).

ACS 550 (.75 - 500 HP)

The ACS550 is an adjustable frequency AC drive that achieves the ultimate in flexible motor control per formance. Offering three modes of motor control:V/Hz,Sensorless Vector and Flux Vector, the ACS550 per forms accurate speed and torque control of any standard squirrel cage motor.

With drives ranging from 1.0 to 500 HP (0.75 to 355 kW), the ACS550 series features an 'intuitively obvious' multi-lingual,full graphic display panel that also provides assistants to aid users in start-up,maintenance,and diagnostics.The control panel can be mounted on the cover of the drive,or remotely,and can upload,store,and download parameters. The ACS550 comes equipped with an extensive library of preprogrammed application macros that,at the touch of a button,allow rapid configuration of inputs,outputs,and parameters for specific applications to maximize convenience and minimize start-up time.

The ACS550 can be used for the simplest to the most demanding applications.Two integral option slots can be configured with additional relay outputs,encoder feedback,as well as a host of dif ferent communication bus adapters.An integral brake chopper is provided on all R1 and R2 frame size drives.

The ACS550 is available in both a Normal Duty Rating,and a Heavy Duty rating.The Normal Duty Rating has a 10% short term overload rating,and the Heavy Duty rating has a 50%short term overload rating for one (1)minute out of ten (10).Both ratings are capable of 180%of I 2hd for 2 seconds out of each minute.

ACS 800 (2 - 4000 HP)

Our latest AC Drive is extremely small and yet has everything inside.

The ACS800's Start-Up Assistant makes the drive easy to use while Adaptive Programming is quick and flexible to meet the most complex needs. Filters, brake chopper and chokes are integrated and plug-in option modules are available.

The drive is IndustrialIT enabled to allow connection to almost any control system. It's now available from 1.1 to 500 kW but that's just the start.

DC Motors

DMI (180 - 400) 25 TO 1400kW

ABB's new generation of DC motors turns many ingrained concepts upside down. Thanks to creative innovations and state-of-the-art computerized optimization of technical solutions that earlier were considered to have reached the "design limits", a completely new generation of DC motors has evolved.

They embody a number of positive characteristics, which previously could not be combined:

High output and small dimensions

High output over a wide speed range

Smooth running at low speeds and low moment of inertia

Benefits of DC and the minimum of maintenance

The new generation of DC motors offers completely new opportunities for improving productivity as a result of the substantially faster speed control. At the same time, the investment costs are lowered. Thanks to the precise optimization of the electrical and mechanical characteristics and the wide speed range, over sizing of motor drives to achieve the desired speed range is unnecessary.

It is no exaggeration to say that the DMI motors belong to a generation offering a completely new performance and new opportunities.

DMP (112 - 180) 1 to 200kW

DMP is the smallest DC Motor in the ABB range. The production facilities are geared to deliver large numbers of these motors on very short notice. ABB also maintains a stock of motors with different ratings for emergency situations.

Motors designed for high powers at low speeds. A well proven design, available since beginning of the 80’s. More then 300 machines delivered throughout the world, installed in the most demanding applications as rolling mills, mine hoist and in the cement industry. Thanks to it's rigid design it is well suited for the high demands in these applications.
